I’M LIKE THE WOMAN AT THE WELL….BUT, I WANTED TO BE THE PRINCESS WHO IS KISSED BY THE PRINCE
John 4: 15 Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” 16 He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” 17 “I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. 18 The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.”
She like me had many husbands, why could she not be happy in her marital life?
I know my first choice of a husband was due to my lack of maturity and blindness to what “LOVE” is really about. I just wanted to be away from under my parent’s strict rules and their “bible beating.” I felt unloved however; I now, see they did love me a great deal. Dad worked hard, long hours just to give us a roof over our heads. Mom worked several jobs in order for us to have the American dream. We didn’t have the latest fashions or new cars but, they did show us love. We were encourages as much as they knew how to encourage. They allow me to go to college and my sister to be in private school. We had family gathering and a close knit family. My parents were not as good as saying the words of “I love you” on a daily basis until later in our lives.
