Do we really know ourselves? Do we want to know who we are? Many times were float with the wind and go wherever people expect us to go. We change with our friend groups. With our work friends we usually act different than with our at home friends. We may be a different person around our church friends and don’t let them see who we really are.
We are all sinners and the church is a place for those needing healing. It’s not a place for saints or those who are perfect but, you must admit you faults or sins and want repentance. We are all capable of being mean, cruel and hateful. Do we act on those behaviors on a regular basis? Do we have bad habits like smoking, dipping, getting drunk, cussing often or picking our nose? We desire to please others but it is more important to please God or ourselves (if you don’t believe in GOD). Pleasing other will lead us to a very stressful life. We need to lie, sacrifice, pretend, always give in to others, and smile a lot. We don’t use our voice or have opinions. We just agree with everything or go along no matter how we personally feel. How to we chose to be ourselves and not be a people pleaser? We just learn who we are and focus on our strengths. We need to be kind to others however, create good boundaries.
Forgive yourself for the wrong choices that you’ve made in the past. They are not evidence of who you are, they are evidence of who you were.
